The Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament is looking for a Peace Education Officer to take the lead in the development of CND Peace Education work.

We need a passionate and highly-organised person to flexibly and responsively manage the CND Peace Education programme and develop the overall CND Peace Education strategy.

The successful candidate will support the successful School Speaker Network working in schools across England, and further develop resources available via the CND Peace Education website for remote learning.

The successful candidate will have experience of working in an educational environment and of recruiting and coordinating volunteers. A good working knowledge of the English education system and national curriculum is essential – the programme does not run in the other nations of the UK.  Experience of delivering training and teaching or running educational workshops is highly desirable. They will be committed to cooperative and active learning, as well as the overall aims and objectives of CND.

The job will involve remote working, with attendance at the office roughly monthly for those living outside of London (for which travel expenses would be paid). Applicants should note that the role will involve regular travel throughout England. This is a part-time post (14 hours per week) with a salary of £28,492 pro rata per annum (plus a London weighting for residents of the capital) and 28 days of holiday pro rata, plus pro rata bank holidays, and a contributory pension scheme. This is a contracted position of 18 months, with the possibility of extension, and will be subject to a 3-month probationary period.
