Winter Appeal – People not Nukes
£240 BILLION ON NUCLEAR WEAPONS
What could it fund instead?
220,000 nurses | 3.7m affordable homes | Free school meals for 46 years | Solar panels for every home
This winter, we need to raise £20,000 to take the People Not Nukes campaign forward in 2027.
Please donate CND’s vital campaign to expose the shocking cost of nuclear weapons – and show how investing this money in public services could save lives and transform our society for the better.
This winter, millions of people are facing another difficult year. The cost of living remains painfully high. Household budgets are stretched, public services are under huge pressure and too many people are being forced to make impossible choices about how they heat their homes, put food on the table and pay their bills.
But what is the government spending our money on at this difficult time? It plans to spend at least £240 billion on Britain’s nuclear weapons system over the next 30 years.
Please make a donation today to help us expose the true cost of nuclear weapons and campaign for investment into public services and climate action instead. Your support will help us:
- Lobby government ministers and MPs about why public money should be spent on tackling the real security threats we face from climate breakdown and the cost-of-living crisis.
- Reach thousands of people across Britain with powerful advertising campaigns exposing the true cost of nuclear weapons.
- Produce campaign materials for CND stalls and actions in towns and cities across the country.
- Build stronger links with trade unions, health campaigns, climate groups, anti-poverty organisations and housing campaigns, bringing new people into the campaign for a nuclear-free future.
- Support more young people and students to get involved in campaigning for peace and disarmament.
