Join Leicester CND at 11am on Sunday 9th November at the Arch of Remembrance War Memorial in Victoria Park. We will be laying white poppy wreaths.

White poppies remember all victims of war, contribute to building a culture of peace, and challenge militarism. The white poppy movement was launched in 1933 by the Cooperative Women’s Guild, women who had lost husbands, fathers, sons, brothers and fiancés in World War I.

This will be followed by laying together a white poppy wreath at the Conscientious Objector marker stone on Peace Walk below the Arch of Remembrance memorial on Victoria Park, Leicester.

Friends at the Leicester Quaker meeting house on Queen’s Road, Clarendon Park are inviting us afterwards for a cup of tea.
