Join Greater Manchester and District CND in meeting the Peace Legacy Ambassadors; a delegation of young people bringing the testimony of the hibakusha (survivors of the atomic bombings of Japan) to the UK.

The Ambassadors are a group of younger people either related to or trained by the hibakusha, who can relate their stories. Given the average age of a hibakusha is 82, this is a new project to ensure their important stories and message are not lost.

At midday, the Ambassadors will join GMD CND on a guided ‘peace walk’ of Manchester, exploring the radical social and political history of the city.

In the evening, there will be a dinner where we will hear about the experiences of the hibakusha during and after the terrible bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

All are welcome to join for what should be a fascinating day.
