All welcome at the ecumenical service at Crypt Chapel, Ambrosden Avenue (behind Westminster Catholic Cathedral). The service commemorates the 82nd anniversary of the death of Blessed Franz Jagerstatter who was executed in 1943 for refusing to serve in Hitler’s army and beatified in October 2007.
This will be followed by an Interfaith Peace Walk, assembling in front of Westminster Cathedral, Victoria Street and walking to join the Nagasaki Day commemoration at the London Peace Pagoda in Battersea Park,
The ceremony seeks to reflect on the horrors of war in an atomic age, and to pray together for peace and harmony between all peoples and nations. This event is supported by London CND, with a short speech from one of our Vice Chairs.
All are very welcome to join and offer flowers and incense.
