Join Leicester CND for an online event to remember conscientious objectors.
The programme includes:
• Was Thomas the Tank Engine a pacifist in WWII?
• Hear the stories told by Annette Henstra of a congregation of conscientious objectors in Friesland, the Netherlands.
• Hear the courageous personal story of a Russian refusing to fight.
• What about Nonviolence and the Ukraine/Russian War? Alexandre Christoyannopoulos, Head of International Relations, at Loughborough University will reflect on this question.
• Join in singing “Peace, Salaam, Shalom”. We will end with “We shall overcome” by Global Harmony Choir, Melton Mowbray – conducted by Carl Hodson, musician and Buddhist.
• Closing Thought: Being a Conscientious Objector for Life.
