We’re asking CND groups to visit their local MP’s constituency office on Friday 14th February to hand in a letter demanding answers about US nuclear weapons coming to Britain.

We suggest you go along with the letter, your group’s banner/s, and any visual props you may wish to take to highlight the important message that we need to know if US nukes are coming to Britain. It would be great if you could take photos outside the office and send us the best ones (pressoffice@cnduk.org), and remember to post on social media.

Draft template for your letter – feel free to adapt for your MP!

Our government has a fundamental duty to be transparent and accountable to the people it serves.

Yet, recent reports suggest that US nuclear weapons may be stationed at RAF Lakenheath in Suffolk without any public consultation or parliamentary debate. This is a shocking failure of democracy and a direct threat to our safety.

It is our right to have a say on whether we want these weapons on our soil. It is unacceptable that we have been left to piece together information from US officials and social media.

We deserve to know the truth.

Together, we can push for a public statement from the Prime Minister, demand transparency, and oppose the stationing of these weapons in Britain.
