Special nuclear flights between the US and UK: the dangers involved

Despite claiming to have an independent nuclear weapons system, for more than sixty years Britain and the United States have been transferring and sharing technical information, nuclear materials, and warhead components for use in each other’s nuclear weapons programmes. One important way in which transfers of nuclear materials and technology are carried out between Britain and the US is through special flights into and out of Royal Air Force (RAF) Brize Norton, near Carterton in Oxfordshire.
