Ellie Kinney is co-convenor of Youth and Student CND and has been at the forefront of the recent re-launch in activity from the section. She set up the Goldsmiths CND group.
‘I first got involved with CND after attending a protest against austerity,’ Ellie told us. ‘I was really quite ignorant of how much money the government was wasting on nuclear weapons, and getting involved with CND really opened my eyes to this.
‘But the global political landscape is so rapidly developing that nuclear weapons are more than just a redundant waste of money- they are a threat to both current and future generations and this needs to change.’
