Join Scottish CND and CND for this online event to discuss multiple aspects of the contentious AUKUS nuclear submarine deal.
AUKUS is an agreement between Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States which would see nuclear-powered attack submarines provided to Australia in return for massive investments in the US and UK nuclear submarine industries.
The UK has announced it will commence building the first of its 12 SSN-A (AUKUS) nuclear submarines next year, and will provide nuclear reactors for Australia’s own future submarines.
With guest speakers Sybilla George, a writer and researcher from Melbourne; Tim Deere-Jones, a marine scientist and researcher; and Sophie Bolt, CND General Secretary. Chaired by Lynn Jamieson, Scottish CND Chair.
