Join Merseyside CND to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
At 10:15am, gather at LCVS. We will then proceed, via William Brown Street, with banners and placards to St John’s Garden. At 11am, the Lord Mayor of Liverpool, Anna Rothery, will lay a wreath in memory of all the victims of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and make a short speech about the atomic bombings. This will be followed by a minute’s silence. There will then be poems, survivors’ testimonies and music from members and friends, followed y the Peace Prayer.
Everyone is welcome to join us in proceeding to the front steps of St George’s Hall for quiet discussion and reflection.
