Join Oxford CND in commemorating the 75th anniversary of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
There will be a vigil and readings to mark the atomic bombings of Japan. Please bring banners and poems.
Opening at 11am by Lord Mayor and Mayoress of Oxford – Cllr. Craig Simmons and Elise Benjamin.
During the hour until noon: Music by Arne Richards and Isabel Knowland – they will play a beautiful, rather poignant tune from Finland and, later, a version of The Cherry Blossom (Sakura) from Japan.
Singing by Sarah Westcott and some SeaGreen Singers.
Please keep socially distanced, wear masks if you wish, and we will have hand sanitiser, CND leaflets, CND 75thanniversary atomic bombing posters. Please bring your own poster / banner / poem / reading if you wish.
