Join the Nuclear Free Local Authorities, Mayors for Peace and the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons as they hold a joint seminar, ‘Promoting Peace in an Unstable World‘.

This seminar will explore how Councils can support the Treaty to Prohibit Nuclear Weapons and how we can promote local peace education initiatives and work for more peaceful towns and cities.

Speakers will include:

  • Lord Mayor of Manchester, Councillor June Hitchen
  • Sean Morris: who will provide progress on Mayors for Peace, a joint meeting with PNND, the ICAN Cities Appeal and moves to develop Council peace education programmes.
  • Kelly Simcock: Kelly is from the Foundation for Peace / Warrington Peace Centre and will talk about its peace education programmes and the local work it has undertaken since the Manchester Arena attack and other incidents.
  • Jeremy Gilley: Jeremy is from Peace One Day and will talk of its work around International Peace Day and their wider peace-building and education initiatives

This seminar is a free event open to all Mayors for Peace Chapter members and officers, non-member local authorities, NFLA members, ICAN members, nuclear policy NGOs, peace NGOs and all those interested in this subject matter.
