Join Abingdon Peace Group to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the nuclear bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
There will be drinks and an exhibition in the Garden Room at 7pm, a ceremony around the Peace Pole attended by the Mayor of Abingdon (a Mayor for Peace) at 7:30pm, followed by a procession to the river at 8pm for lantern-floating on the River Thames. All welcome.
The lanterns were given by Hiroshima Coventry Club and have been painted for us by students from Seishikan High School in Hiroshima.
