Join Kidlington Peace Campaign for an event to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the nuclear bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Assemble at Exeter Hall gardens for music, poems and readings.
Today the dangers posed by nuclear weapons are greater than ever, and a few years ago the United Nations approved a treaty to ban all nuclear weapons. Despite this UN treaty, the UK government recently decided to spend billions of pounds on new nuclear weapons. Kidlington Peace Campaign believes this money should instead be spent on protecting the country against climate change and cyber-attacks, and on the fight against poverty.
