“When I first wrote a short introduction of myself for Campaign magazine at the beginning of 2025, I was filled with anticipation for the road ahead. By today, writing in August 2026, that feeling has evolved into a profound sense of pride and shared purpose.

Over the past 18 months, the global landscape has become increasingly unsettling, marked by rising militarism and a deeply concerning escalation in the threat of nuclear war. Witnessing these shifts first hand has brought the vital urgency of CND’s mission into sharp focus, making our collective work feel more critical than ever before.

As Office and HR manager, my journey has been uniquely dynamic — bridging the vital internal care of our team with the raw energy of our public resistance. Far from staying behind closed office doors, I have thrown myself into the heart of our active campaigns. Whether I am coordinating our major conferences, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with allies at demonstrations, or managing our daily operations, every action is driven by the same goal. In times of high global tension, it takes immense energy to sustain a movement, and I am proud to help drive that momentum both in the streets and in the office.

The challenges we face globally are undeniable, but being entrenched in this fierce, dedicated community brings immense hope. Balancing the structural health of our organisation with active, front-line campaigning has been an incredibly rewarding chapter of my career. Every event organised and every demo attended reinforces a powerful truth: every piece of our work is essential to the collective struggle for a nuclear-free future, and I am honored to be right in the thick of it.”
