The symbol made a guest appearance at the Burnley May Day Festival in Towneley Park, enjoying a prime location by the community marquee. The beautiful weather contributed to the sense of occasion, with hundreds of people seeing the installation, which even received a mention from the main stage. Local CND campaigners made sure to explain the meaning of the symbol and the work of our organisation to passers-by. No explanation was probably needed however for the day’s keynote speaker, Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell MP!
