On Tuesday, 22 March CND groups and supporters gathered at the US Embassy in London to protest the return of US nuclear weapons to Lakenheath airbase in Suffolk.
It will be followed by national demonstration at Lakenheath on Saturday 20 May.
Organised by London Region CND, they were joined by CND groups located closest to Lakenheath – Norwich CND and Cambridge CND. Other CND groups in attendance included Bromley CND, Lewisham and Greenwich CND, Kingston Peace Council, Wimbledon Disarmament Coalition/CND, Forest Hill CND, Lambeth CND, Tower Hamlets CND, as well as Christian CND and Labour CND members living in London. We were also joined by supporters from Kent Area CND and Greater Manchester CND, as well as Pax Christi, Japan Against Nuclear, and the London Peace Pagoda. Thanks to all who attended.
