The government is buying 12 nuclear-capable fighter jets: a significant expansion of Britain’s nuclear capabilities. The country will now be able to launch nuclear weapons from both the sea and sky.

This is yet another disastrous decision by the Starmer government. It won’t make us safer. Instead it will increase the risk of nuclear weapons being used in war. And it takes even more money away from our public services.
Buying American nuclear jets also ties Britain even closer to the dangerous leadership of Donald Trump. Join CND’s campaign to stop this nuclear expansion and help us scrap Britain’s nuclear weapons altogether.
