Thank you to everyone who joined us at CND Conference over the weekend of the 17th and 18th October at the Arlington Conference Centre, Camden.

We had wall-to-wall media coverage – because Trident is now top of the political agenda – and because our longstanding member Jeremy Corbyn MP accepted the role of CND vice-president. Our members voted on CND policy on Saturday, as well as discussing the next steps in the campaign against Trident. The highlight for many was when Jeremy joined us at the evening reception and spoke about his ongoing commitment to our cause.

We were joined on Sunday by Catherine West MP, Shadow Foreign Minister, who spoke to us about the upcoming debate within Labour, as well as Brendan O’Hara MP – the SNP defence spokesperson – and many other high-profile and compelling speakers. Interesting and useful campaigning workshops attracted large audiences as we worked together to strategise for scrapping Trident.

If you were unable to attend the ‘Using the Legal Arguments Better’ workshop with Peter Burt and Trish Whitham from the Nuclear Information Service, you can now download the handout from this workshop.

We very much hope that you enjoyed the weekend and that you feel energised to take the next steps forward with us. This is a time of enormous opportunity for all the reaons we discussed – and we are going to make the most of it.
