Join CND for a webinar to discuss why we must put pressure on the government to reverse course and invest in peace and a sustainable economy, not nuclear weapons and more militarism.

Ahead of a CND demonstration at Devonport Dockyard in Plymouth, CND is highlighting its particular role at the centre of Britain’s deadly nuclear weapons system. It services the current generation of nuclear-armed Vanguard submarines, and is a decommissioning centre for nuclear-powered submarines.

The billions being wasted here and elsewhere on nuclear weapons could be spent on social welfare instead, and redirected into creating highly skilled, well-paid jobs that don’t threaten people and planet. Join us to discuss the true cost of nuclear weapons – financially, on jobs, and the dangers posed to local populations.

Speakers include:

Alex Gordon, former RMT President

Sophie Bolt, General Secretary, CND

Tony Staunton, Vice-Chair CND.
