The Peace Garden at RAF Molesworth has a rich history in the peace movement. During the 1980s Quakers Ian and Jennifer Hartley travelled to the site in a caravan and became part of the peace camp protesting against the stationing of US Cruise Missiles. The caravan remained after the other protesters had been evicted and became a symbol of resistance during this time.
The missiles have now gone, but RAF Molesworth remains an active USAF base. The legacy of that time includes a Peace Garden as a witness to what happened there, along with a cross to demonstrate the importance Christians played during this time.
Christian CND has been working with a group of local volunteers to refresh the site, and will be holding a gathering to rededicate the garden for a more peaceful future and a world without nuclear weapons.

There will be speeches in the garden and a re-dedication of the Cross from 11:00. Please join us for a shared lunch in the garden afterwards.
