“The world is a very dangerous place at the moment, which can make campaigning for a world without nuclear weapons a difficult and frustrating task at times. But working as a campaigner for CND definitely brings me hope – it is such a privilege to work with the dedicated and passionate people that make up the peace movement.
Part of my responsibilities is to organise events and campaigns to try and make sure that CND’s anti-nuclear message is heard in as many ways as possible. This could mean liaising with the police to make sure a demonstration goes ahead, designing a cherry tree to raise awareness of the bombing of Hiroshima at festivals, or chairing a panel on Britain’s nuclear bases.
I edit CND’s magazine, Campaign, and am always looking for ideas for content – get in touch if there is anything you would like covered. I also make sure our campaign materials are up to date, both digitally and hard copy, so similarly get in touch with any feedback.
It has been heartening to play a part in the movement against the genocide in Palestine over the past two years. I have been one of the head stewards of these protests, which have seen hundreds of thousands of people regularly coming together for peace. We need even more people turning up for peace in 2026 and even more solidarity with those under attack. See you at the next demo!”
