Come and support Exeter CND’s stall to mark the anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki! Pop by to say hello and discuss the campaign for a world without nuclear weapons.
The dropping of nuclear weapons in August 1945 on Hiroshima (6th Aug) and Nagasaki (9th Aug) killed tens of thousands of people instantly, and many more were seriously injured. Yet more would die in the years to come from cancers caused by the radiation from the bombs. All are welcome to find out more about what happened, and to sign CND’s petition that calls on the UK government to sign the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW).
Exeter CND will be inviting the Lord Mayor, Deputy Lord Mayor, city councillors from all parties, and our MP Ben Bradshaw, to all come along and sign the petition too.
