In March 2011, an earthquake and tsunami hit the Fukushima nuclear power plant in Japan, causing a disaster that is still unfolding nine years later. CND urges the government to learn from the continuing crisis at Fukushima and reconsider its support for building new nuclear power stations. Join us as we commemorate the anniversary of the accident.
The Remember Fukushima vigil will include silence and prayer, poetry, speeches and songs. Speakers and performers to be announced, as well as open mic for speeches by participants of the vigil.
Please feel free to bring torches, candle lanterns (jam jars good), banners, balloons and flowers.
