Does the presence of US nuclear weapons at Lakenheath airbase threaten the security of East Anglia? Join Norwich CND for an important public meeting on the return of these weapons of mass destruction to Suffolk for the first time in 14 years.

  • Wednesday, 9 November 2022
  • 7-9:30pm
  • The Auditorium at The Forum, Millennium Plain, Norwich, NR2 1TF
Speakers will include Tom Unterrainer, CND Chair; Rebecca Johnson, CND Vice-President and founder of the Acronym Institute for Disarmament Diplomacy; and Councillor Jan Davis, who was formerly an emergency planner.

CND Chair Tom Unterrainer said:

“The US roll-out of upgraded B61-12 air-dropped nuclear bombs to NATO bases in Europe this December is a matter of grave concern. These weapons are coming to Britain and amount to a massive target on the backs of the people of East Anglia in the event of a nuclear war between the US and Russia. CND and local opposition forced the removal of these catastrophic weapons of mass destruction before. We’re calling on the UK government to stop playing with people’s lives and refuse to allow these nuclear weapons back in Britain.”
