On Saturday, 23 September, CND called a nationwide day of action against the return of US nuclear bombs to Britain, including  an attempt to conduct a citizens’ weapons inspection at RAF Lakenheath in Suffolk.

CND groups reported excellent engagement with the public on the issue – with many expressing concern over this escalatory deployment. This is not surprising considering that the majority of the public are opposed to US nuclear weapons returning to Britain.

We’d like to thank all our members and supporters for their hard work in building for the day and contributing to its success. Find below a gallery of images from the various events as well as press coverage. If you have photos of your group, email pressoffice@cnduk and we’ll add it to the website.
